Kryo would tell you to never get a D40, but I think it's still good for a start, especially if you can get it for cheap. I mean, you've seen what some of the other cBers can do with it, right?!

should I get the Nikon D40?! I'm considering buying one from Target since they're super cheap at the moment...and I don't wanna spend the big bucks on a super fine latest model.

Unfortunately, there wasn't much choice in my most recent camera. My friend was taking a picture of me with my dad's old Canon 4.0 mp camera and dropped it and broke it, so she offered me to buy me a new one. (This all happened in NYC) We went to the Best Buy on 5th, where, unfortunately Danity Kane was playing (so many fucking people there) and had to choose between a 100 Nikon or a 150 Canon. I went with the Canon... *shrug* It's nice, but I wish there was a larger selection there.

Help me find a super rugged, shock-resistant camera prease. Preferably not Olympus.

She's actually an incredible graphics designer as well, so she incorporates a lot of her glamour / fashion photography into her work.
